3 Tips for Eating While Sick
Do you follow your hunger cues? 🍕
Following our hunger cues is SO important and something I work on with clients all the time.
BUT there are a couple of times where, even when we don’t feel hungry, we really should eat.
Right now, the most common cause of no appetite I’m seeing - getting this winter cold.
Our bodies need nutrients for optimal functioning on our best days, so it makes sense that we would definitely need it on our not-so-best days, right?
My 3 tips to get food in, even when you don’t feel like it:
🤧 Eat nutrient-dense. If you don’t have any cravings at all - just eat what you know your body needs.
🤒 Eat calorie-dense food. Get more calories in smaller meals and less bites.
😷 If nothing really sounds good, eat highly palatable foods. Having a frozen pizza gives you more fuel than no food!
Being sick this week, we’re getting lots of rest and eating lots of soup (👋🏼 nutrients) with lots of pita bread (👋🏼 calories). All the fuel for recovery!
